Baroque Dance Rhythms for Musicians
Explore Baroque dance and music rhythm relationships through basic steps and sequences to illuminate and help internalize rhythms, tempos, and “character” of dance types encountered in Baroque music repertoire: sarabande, bourée, gavotte, menuet, gigue, loure, chaconne, etc.
Historical Dance Forms for Dancers, Singers, and Actors
Explore the roots of classical ballet technique found in Baroque dance progressing from basic social dance steps to ornamented theatrical steps; plus period bows, carriage of the body, and gestures; and an introduction to typical noble and comic theatre characters.
Baroque Dance for Suzuki Musicians
Experience Baroque dance and music rhythm relationships through basic steps and gestures. Paige leads participants through basic steps to typical Baroque Dance Music as well as corresponding selections from the Suzuki Repertoire. The goal is to internalize rhythm of the dance types encountered in Baroque repertoire: bourée, menuet, gavotte, gigue, sarabande, etc.
Renaissance and Baroque Dance for Country Dancers
Paige introduces you to basic Renaissance and Baroque Dance steps used in early country dancing including pas de bourée, pas de gavotte, pas de rigaudon; bows and body carriage; and a choice selection of dances for your enjoyment.
